Adult Nationals

The 2008 US Adult Figure Skating Championships were held from April 8-12 in Lake Placid, NY.  The following skaters represented the club at the event:

Annual Banquet and Party

The 2008 Annual Banquet and Party will be held April 26, from 1:00-4:00 at the Dixieland Funpark.  More information is in the newsletter, along with a reservation form.  Please send in the reservation forms by April 10.

Alex at Nationals: 
Alex Zahradnicek competed in the Novice Men's event at the 2008 US Figure Skating Championships in St. Paul, MN. 

He placed 2nd in the Short Program with a score of 46.59 and 5th in the Freeskate with a score of 86.65. These scores put him 4th overall with a total score of 133.24.

Next Newsletter: 
Kristel is putting together the next newsletter. She is asking for everyone's help by sending in photos, especially of the Holiday shows. Also, if you have any information, articles, results that you would like her to include, please send them to her. She can only put information in that you provide! Her email is: kristel_fuchs@hotmail.com. She especially needs stuff from our skaters that don't skate at Town Center.

  2007 US Adult Figure Skating Championships:

GaFSC members Davin Grindstaff and Tina Gravenstein competed at Adult Nationals in Bensenvillem, IL, and BOTH WON their events!!!  

Davin won the Championship Masters Men event and Tina won the Gold Ladies III event.

The Southern Interclub Skating Council was reformed in 2006.  Newsletters and Officers are available on the SICSC page.

The GaFSC now has a Yahoo! Group for its members. We have a calendar of events, files, and we can send out messages to our members. However, you do have to join the group to receive the emails.

The purposes of the Georgia Figure Skating Club are:

• to encourage the instruction, practice and advancement of the members in free skating, dancing, and all types of figure skating;
• to encourage and cultivate a spirit of fraternal feeling among ice skaters;
• to sponsor, to produce, or co-operate in the production of amateur ice carnivals and shows;
• to encourage the instruction and training of judges and other officials in support and furtherance of recognized United States Figure Skating Association objectives as well as working with other skating organizations and clubs.
